It’s tempting to reach into the medicine cabinet and use one of your own medications to treat your pet, but is it safe? Some over-the-counter medications, including Benadryl, can be given to dogs, BUT—and that’s a big but—none of these meds should be given to a dog without first consulting your vet. On September 3rd the FDA announced an expanded voluntary recall for potentially contaminated pigs ears.
